ATTENTION PARENTS: We were informed that suspicious sounds were heard outside. As a result, the school went into lock down at 9:55 am today. The Henry County Sheriff's Department was notified and responded within minutes. Several Sheriff's Deputies investigated and determined that the sounds came from the autobody shop next door, they were recycling metal car bumpers. The lock down was lifted at 10:30 am. Our School Resource Officer, Deputy West, remained on site afterwards. Please contact the school if you have any questions.

On May 10, almost every student and staff member attended the field trip to Crown Center in downtown Kansas City. The trip started with a bathroom break and lunch around the fountains. Then students and staff enjoyed a sweet treat from Sheridan’s Frozen Custard. After the frozen custard and another bathroom break, we went to The Coterie Theater to watch a live performance of “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!” The actors sang and danced and used puppets to tell the story! This day of fun was provided by our community and came at zero cost to the school. We were so lucky to have the Eagles Lady Auxiliary, the Eagles Dart League, Integrity Floors, the Sunrise Optimist Club, The Theater League out of Kansas City, and several community individuals, who wish to remain anonymous, provide the funding for our trip. Ms. Theresa and Mr. Rick packed almost 100 lunches and snacks for us as well. Even though school is out for the summer, I wanted to share some photos from that day. I hope everyone has a wonderful summer break!
