4th graders did a wonderful job presenting their research projects! We learned important information!
Our 3rd graders in training!!!! We’re so proud of them!
Let the adventures begin!
Today began 2nd grades training for 3rd grade! We are counting down to the last day of school with balloons that have a fun activity for each day! Today our balloon revealed that we would be creating fraction pizzas!
Day 2 of third grade's Peep STEM activities! Today they worked hard to make Peep boats. They were given 3 boxes of Peeps and toothpicks. They were trying to see if they could build a working boat! They had some really great designs. Each group had something a little different, but they were all amazed by the sight of their Peep boat in the water! Definitely something I will do again and such a fun, enjoyable activity after all their hard work during MAP testing 🙂
2nd grade celebrated Earth Day by planting flowers and learning all about our Earth! They focused on how to keep our planet clean and what they can do to help! We ended the day with a party for our planet with chalk and popsicles.
The baked Challah. Ms. Theresa melted some butter and brushed it on the Challah, then sacked it up for the fifth graders to take home to eat. (part 6)
Fifth grade making Challah day 2. The dough raised, was punched down, and then distributed to the students. They had to knead the dough for 5-6 minutes and then divide it into 3 pieces. The dough pieces were rolled into ropes then braided. (part 5)
Fifth grade makes Challah bread with Ms. Theresa after reading a novel about a Danish family who helped a Jewish family flee Denmark as German soldiers invade countries during WWII.
Third grade is wrapping up MAP testing week with some Peep STEM activities! Today they worked hard to make Peep Towers. They were given 3 boxes of Peeps and toothpicks. They were trying to see how high they could build their tower. Tomorrow they will try to build a Peep boat!
REMINDER:
Leesville School District will not be in session this Friday, April 15th, or Monday, April 18th, for April break. Everyone enjoy the break!
2nd grade did an amazing job at the living museum! They researched a historical figure and memorized their information! So proud of all the hard work they put in!
All of Leesville enjoyed interacting with chicks this past week. Third grade hatched 12 chicks and several classes enjoyed holding them. The students had a great time and couldn't get enough of these cute little birds. Big thank you to the Missouri Extension Office and Henry County 4-H for allowing us this opportunity!
More fun!
Science fun!
4th and 6th graders dissected unhatched chicken eggs today!
The chairs are on strike! Second grade has hurt their chairs feelings and wrote letters to earn their chairs back!
Third grade got their eggs today. We are excited to learn about the life cycle of a chicken and see the eggs hatch!
